Central Oregon's Premier Volleyball Club for Junior Girls, Ages 10-18
Oregon Volleyball Academy offers the following types of programs:
TRAVEL TEAMS(November - May): This level is a higher intensity training program geared toward the a volleyball player looking for a more competitive atmosphere. Travel teams will be formed in the 12-18 & under age groups. We typically form 1-3 travel teams per age group, with the top talent being placed on Nationals teams, then Elevate and Power teams (in ranking). Teams compete in the CEVA (Columbia Empire Volleyball Association) regional Power League as well as several other USAV tournaments - typically held in the Portland, Salem or Eugene areas. Most teams will participate in at least one National Tournament, such as Colorado Crossroads National Qualifier, Las Vegas Classic, Spokane, Reno National Qualifiers or larger regional tournaments such as Matt Hartner Memorial (MLK Day) or President's Day Tournament in Eugene. More information about Power League and this level can be found at www.cevaregion.org
This level incorporates a higher level of expectation on the player and is designed towards the player looking to play at the high school level or beyond. In addition, players selected for these teams will have twice weekly athletic conditioning/training, outside of practice times, and be expected to attend all sessions as a team.
LOCAL TEAMS (November - March): This developmental program serves as an avenue for players to learn the game. Teams will try to be formed in age groups from 16&U to 12&U - with all tournaments taking place in Central Oregon. This program is geared toward the athlete who is looking for a shorter and less demanding season. The level of play is typically lower than those playing on travel teams and tournaments have a much lower level of officiating and a lower level of player/team expectations.
14's ACADEMY (NOVEMBER - LATE FEB) 14's Academy is for those players not selected for either a travel or local team. Academy players practice all together, as a group, once a wekk, typically on Saturdays from 9:30 - 11:30am. There is a focus on fundamental skill development across the board and helping these players gain more expertise and confidence in their level of play. Academy players will have an opportunity to play in two local tournaments, one per month, in January and February and the players are split into separate teams for these tournaments; playing time is much more equal for Academy players than it is for travel or local teams. Typically, the cost is about half that of the local teams.
